Once the world was full of bad people, and God wasn't happy with how things were going. He decided to start over, but there was one good man named Noah. God liked Noah because he was a good person.
God had a big plan. He told Noah to build a huge boat called an ark. This wasn't just any boat; it was enormous, like a floating zoo. God gave Noah specific instructions on how to build it, including the size and what materials to use.
Noah worked hard on the ark, and while he did, he also warned others about the big flood that was coming. Sadly, most people didn't believe him and continued their ways.
When the ark was ready, God told Noah to bring his family and two of every kind of animal, male and female, onto the ark. This way, when the flood was over, the world could start anew with all kinds of creatures.
Then, it started to rain, and it didn't stop for forty days and nights. The earth was covered in water, and everything that wasn't on the ark was washed away. Noah, his family, and the animals were safe inside the ark, floating on the floodwaters.
Finally, the rain stopped, and the waters began to go down. Noah sent out a dove to see if there was dry land, but it came back. He waited a week and sent the dove out again. This time, it came back with an olive leaf. Noah knew this meant that the water was going down and the earth was showing again.
At last, the ark came to rest on a mountain, and God told Noah it was safe to come out. Noah, his family, and all the animals left the ark. They were the only ones left, and it was their job to start the world over.
God promised Noah that he would never flood the whole earth again. As a sign of this promise, God put a rainbow in the sky. Noah's story teaches about faith, obedience, and new beginnings.
